Better Late Than Never

Al Gore may announce '08 Presidential bid after all. 2000 campaign manager Donna Brazile said he might do it at the Academy Awards.

Good points, and I think he'd be really tough to beat in the primary. I'm a little worried, however, that after spending the last 8 years working with MoveOn and the such, he could be easily turned into another caricature. Instead of the lame, boring Al Gore, it will be the uber-liberal firebrand Al Gore, which I personally like a lot better; I'm just not sure if the American people will.

Oh, and Brazile said he might announce AFTER the Oscar's, not during it. That'd be crazy.

Maybe Gore is seeing how good his luck is by waiting to see if he wins the Oscar and/or the Nobel Prize.

It'd be interesting to see the dynamics change if he entered the race. I've always liked him, and like him even better now. As far as if the public is ready for him, well...with the weather as of late I know a lot of people (including Republicans) talk about global warming...despite the White House's shady attempts to cover it up.
