"Obama supporters pressed officials to keep Colbert off ballot"

I love how the Obama people had their panties in a bunch over a JOKE candidate campaigning in ONE state. Guess it's lucky for them that, due to the strike, the show isn't producing new episodes - Colbert would absolutely nail them for this headline.

oh come on... it was some random people who supported him, it wasn't the obama campaign. and either way- welcome to politics- would you want someone on the ballot potentially taking votes from you for no reason? i mean, the Democratic party did borderline illegal things to keep Nader off the ballot, and none of us got upset about that.

furthermore, the vote was 13-3, so im pretty skeptical those calls really made the difference. unlike edwards sketch nh union endorsement.

bullshit.."some random people who supported him."

they were government officials who'd endorsed obama, and were acknowledgely "volunteering" for the obama campaign. it's pretty clear that the campaign was so paranoid about the possibility of colbert being on the ballot that it sent them to lobby against it.

and speak for yourself - i was upset about the tactics used against nader, even though i HATED the fact (still hate it, as a matter of fact) that he ran.

Well, perhaps if Hillary had significant support among young people, Caitlin and Kyle would be worried as well.

Cheap shot after cheap shot. Why don't you two attack Obama's ideas? Or at least promote Hillary's? Oh wait, not even Hillary knows what she stands for.

If anyone wants a good laugh, checkout what Hillary has to say (or perhaps more appropriately, what little she has to say) about Iraq on her website.

what do you mean "cheap shot?" i thought it was a "cheap shot" to send lobbyists to make sure colbert off of the ballot. honestly, i've been a colbert fan longer than i've been a hillary fan - and if she couldn't win south carolina w/out being paranoid about a JOKE CANDIDATE, i'd certainly lose respect for her.

luckily, she can and will. :)

curtis, you really should read Prof Andrew Sabl's book "Ruling Passions" regarding how politicians should act. You will see that Hillary is doing exactly what she is morally required to do as a representative of the people.

Andrew Sabl's Ruling Passions is actually my assigned reading for next week in Walker's PS 115 class...

Completely random note: Andrew Sabl was in Bruins for Wes Clark 4 years ago.
